Our cleaning kits are designed to deliver the most effective and sanitary results. We take the guesswork out of how to clean the interior of your barrel correctly, by providing step-by-step cleaning instructions and our own unique blend of cleaning products. Proper maintenence of your barrel will ensure the next batch will be free of any lingering bacteria. The cleaning process begins with a BarolKleen solution, which rests inside the barrel for up to 3 days. This kills any lingering bacteria and/or yeasts that may develop during the aging of beer and wine. We then neutralize the barrel using a citric acid and sanitizing tablet solution. It is our recommendation that each barrel should be cleaned every 3-4 months. Barrels used for aging beer and wine should be cleaned after each use.
